Creating a Monarch Waystation

April 4, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Love butterflies? So do we! But butterflies, including the iconic monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus), and other pollinators are in decline. Join Penguin Court, a private preserve of the Brandywine Conservancy, for this virtual presentation on “Monarch Waystations” to learn how you can easily provide the resources necessary for monarch butterflies to reproduce and thrive by adding the right plants to your property and eliminating the use of insecticides. We’ll discuss milkweed species, nectar plants, and more. We will also encourage you to have your “Monarch Waystation” certified, which will help us meet our goal – and that of the Westmoreland Pollinator Partners – of 250 “Monarch Waystations” in Westmoreland County by the end of 2023!
