Summer Camp at West Overton Village

Explore more than a century of history at West Overton’s summer camp! Kids ages 8-12 can have fun with historical hands-on activities, crafts, games, and demonstrations that provide an up close look at the past. Each day has a different theme commemorating America’s 250th. Activities are presented by West Overton Village educators and our exciting community partners.

  • America invents – explore the history of American innovation through fascinating artifacts in our Museum
  • America creates – get creative and celebrate the tradition of American arts and crafts
  • America grows – learn about historic food production and agricultural tools and technologies
  • America builds – see demonstrations of historic trades and discover the resilience of American people and communities
  • America preserves – discover how we preserve the past and care for the land today

On Friday afternoon, families and friends are invited to celebrate the end of camp with a slideshow of the week’s activities and some sweet treats!

The week includes two walking field trips to our neighbor’s, Fort Allen Antique Farm Equipment Association. We are excited to bring back partners from last year including Penn State Master Gardeners of Westmoreland County, and more partners will be announced soon!
