Since 1980, Westmoreland Community Action has made Westmoreland County a better place to live by helping struggling families improve their standard of living and become more self-sufficient. Through housing programs, emergency services, mental health programs, workforce development programs, community services, children and family services, financial services, and a social enterprise, we have helped thousands of Westmoreland County’s disadvantaged residents.
We strive to educate the community and local employers to raise awareness of the plight of the lower-income families in our area. Our mission is to connect individuals and families to opportunities and resources to improve their quality of life and help to reduce poverty in the community. Our team members are made up of teachers, teaching assistants, crisis workers, resource navigators and family advocates in addition to many others who look to have a positive, lasting impact on the community.
