In Honor of Westmoreland 250 – You Can Help Save Our Endangered Monarch

April 15, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Free

The Loyalhanna Watershed Association Education Committee invites you to learn why the iconic Monarch butterfly is endangered and what you can do to help save it. Attendees will be taught what plants and sustainable practices are needed in their own gardens to fulfill the criteria to become Monarch Waystations.
This easy certification process of becoming a Monarch Waystation will be explained by Penn State Extension Master Gardeners and PA Master Naturalists, including how to apply so that certification and a Waystation sign are free! Starting 3/20/23, benefactors of Westmoreland County’s 250th Anniversary initiatives and FirstEnergy are paying the costs for the first 193 applicants. This will enable us to reach our goal of certifying 250 Monarch Waystations by the end of 2023!

Pre-registration is required for this FREE program by contacting Susan Huba at (724) 238-7560, ext. 1# or susan@loyalwater.com
